ABOUT US

Shelly Walton

  

I have always loved art and design, however my path to interior design was not a conventional one. After graduating college with a B.A. in Marketing I pursued a career in business at CDW; a Fortune 500 company. In 2005, I chose to leave a decade-long rewarding career with CDW to embark on an even more rewarding adventure, raising my kids. In 2008, after much soul-searching, I decided it was time to pursue my love of interior design and Paisley Designs was born. Over the years I have used my business acumen and skills to build a company with a reputation for customer service, project management, and quality. The partnerships I have built with contractors, vendors, and architects are one of the most valuable assets we bring to the table.  In 2020 I made the best decision by partnering with Jennifer Lorenz; JLM Interiors.  Together we tackle projects head-on and enjoy it every step of the way.

I had a passion for design from an early age from watching my father build custom homes and work in the industry all my life. When I was nearing the end of high school, choosing a career path was an easy one for me, interior design. I went on to attend Harrington College of Design where I learned the design principles and fundamentals. get me where I am today.  After college I worked for design firms before deciding to venture out on my own in 2008. Today I work primarily in the residential design field with a focus on custom and semi-custom home builds, and remodel projects. I love to work side by side with architects, builders, and the trades to make sure every part of your project will run smoothly. From concept to completion Paisley Designs will guide you through the process, helping you take ownership of your project.

    I interviewed other designers/contractors from various referrals.  Many of them gave me quotes that were astronomical for a master bathroom.  Even considering the size or our master bathroom, I felt I was not getting an honest quote.   I shared with Shelly that our top priority was to stay on budget.  She was honest/straightforward from the get-go and provided information in a timely manner.  No surprises when you are doing a big project is a good thing! 

    Aside from being extremely easy to work with, it is evident that Shelly has established a strong relationship with her vendors and clients.  With each vendor we visited, her opinion and expertise was highly regarded and welcomed.  She was extremely insightful and more importantly, always cognizant of our budget.

    Paisley is great!  Shelly & Jen helped us with window treatments for our entire house as well as plans for basement and fireplace renovations, but they really went above and beyond with our vacation condo.

    We had trouble with an out-of-state builder.  Shelly and Jen not only helped get the project to the finish line but also saved us thousands by creating full kitchen and electrical plans.  Their expertise and advice were invaluable every step of the renovation process. Highly recommended!
